Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is the application of a fine mist of microscopic crystals. The outer layer of skin is gently exfoliated and removed by suction, encouraging the formation of new elastin and collagen. The younger, softer skin moves to the surface affecting significant textural and color changes. An immediate improvement in your skin will be noticeable with these effects increasing over the course of treatments. Microdermabrasion typically offers more predictable results than chemical peels. Microdermabrasion treats all skin types for fine wrinkles, sun damaged and aging skin, enlarged pores, acne prone skin and acne scars, blackheads and whiteheads. Smoothing of the skin and general overall improvement in the look and feel of your skin is the expected result.

Photorejuvenation (IPL)

Using specialized lasers and Intense Pulse Light (IPL) devices, photo rejuvenation is a process used to remove hyper-pigmentation and vascularity, especially on the face, neck and chest that has resulted from sun damage and other factors.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is the most recent therapy for advanced skin rejuvenation and acne. Utilizing Levulan, a photosensitizing agent, activated by a special wavelength BlueLight (Blu-U), we can now more effectively treat photodamage. Levulan is a nontoxic, naturally occurring substance that targets precancerous and certain types of cancer cells. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of actinic keratoses and can also be used to treat acne, rosacea, enlarged oil glands, and brown spots. Abnormal skin cells (such as precancerous cells) are targeted and destroyed, revealing improved skin. There have been several published reports demonstrating efficacy for PDT. Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is, also, the most recent therapy for advanced acne. We can now more effectively treat moderate to severe cystic acne. Levulan targets sebaceous glands and combined with Blu-U target the bacteria that cause acne.

BLU-U® Blue Light

BLU-U® Blue Light Photodynamic Illumination is used to control moderate acne. BLU-U is a unique blue light that is FDA cleared for light alone treatment of moderate inflammatory acne. The BLU-U light can kill the P. acnes bacteria in your skin. Treatments are simple. You sit with your face close to the light for approximately 16-minutes once or twice per week. Treatment sessions may go on for five weeks or longer. It’s safe – and not painful. Blue light treatment can help control your acne in a matter of weeks.

SmoothBeam Laser Therapy

Focuses on the root cause of acne. Most acne treatments miss the target or have potential serious side effects. SmoothBeam uses a combination of laser light at 1450nm and cryogen spray cooling to shrink the sebaceous glands and destroy the bacteria – the root causes of acne lesions – without damaging the epidermis. Antibiotics temporarily kill bacteria, but have no effect on the sebaceous glands and require months to years of treatment. SmoothBeam uses laser energy to penetrate deeper to the sebaceous gland for more effective, long-lasting clearance.

VI Peels

Also called derma-peeling or chemexfoliation, this process applies a chemical solution to the skin, which causes shedding of the upper layer of skin that eventually peels off, exposing regenerated skin. This process produces noticeable changes to skin texture. Sunscreen should be used following a chemical peel since skin will be more sensitive to the sun.
